The Godhead
Genesis 1
The question always arises
concerning Genesis chapter 1 and the fact
that Elohim is plural. It is almost comical to watch as men try to explain
this and throw all types of supposed explanations into it. To understand
Genesis 1, let's look at a couple of other
passages.
1
John 5:7-8
"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the
Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there
are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the
blood: and these three agree in one."
Please notice that
verse 7 states
ARE ONE,
while
verse 8 states
AGREE in One. THERE IS A HUGE difference between the words ARE and
AGREE. You can say "one in unity" if you wish, but you must then explain
the difference between ARE and AGREE. Both scriputres cannot and do not
mean "one in unity". The phrase "agree in one" certainly would mean
one in unity, but "are one" contradicts the unity part. The interesting part
of this scripture is the proximity in which the translation rests.
The verses are one immediately following the another! Do you really think the
translators made a mistake in translation over the course of just this one verse?
Not hardly. The scripture stands correct in it's translation.
Let's Move On.
Genesis 1:1
"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth". I like to stop at
those first 4 words....In the Beginning GOD... Even though that pretty
much sums up all the mysteries of life, the bible doesn't stop there.
Continue to Colossians 1:16: Speaking of
Jesus...All things were created by Him, and for Him. Who was it that
created all things? Jesus.
John 1:1-3.
Verse 3 again states that Jesus Created all
things....even stating that without HIM there was nothing made that
was
made.
Here is the simple part that
scholars can't seem to grasp yet even a babe can understand. I suppose
there are several scriptures that apply to that thought:
2 Peter
3:16
"As also in all his epistles, speaking
in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood,
which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the
other scriptures, unto their own destruction".
2 Timothy
3:7 "Ever learning, and never able to come to
the knowledge of the truth".
Look
very closely at
John 1:1. What do YOU read?
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word
was
with God, and the Word was God". Right?
In the Beginning GOD
Genesis 1:1
In the Beginning was the
WORD John 1:1
Reconcile these two. How? By going to Genesis 1:3,
and reading those first words .... "And
God Said...".
Now,
In the beginning was the WORD and the WORD was with God and the WORD was God........ Continuing back in Gen 1:3 "AND GOD
SAID..."
In the Beginning was the WORD ...................... AND GOD
SAID.
How was the Word in the
beginning? When reconciled with John 1:14 we see it clearly:
"And the Word
was made flesh, and dwelt among us,
(and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the
Father,) full of grace and truth." (John 1:14)
Jesus Is
God In the Flesh!

After reading some of
these statements, I decided to include them on the next and final page to
show you what denominations actually DO believe.
